Costumes are IN!!

Most costumes have been handed out!

Remember, all girls must have black ballet shoes, OR black jazz shoes OR if in our older classes black character shoes.

No socks or tights should be worn unless they were given to you with your costume (Tiny Tones only.)

Class Act/Young 'Uns costume concerns. Modesty of costumes is defineately a TOP priority - it was really hard to tell what these would be from a picture. Thanks for those of you who mentioned your concerns. We have come up with two possible options....

#1 Hollie and I talked about adding something to the strap so the fabric wasn't sheer, but this adds time and work for everyone.

#2 We are checking to see if the black leotard from last year would work underneath and see how it looks. I think many of the girls still have theirs and they still fit....for those that don't, I have found a company that has some black leo's on clearance - they will only be $4.50. It is a black, scoop neck, short sleeve leotard.

We will let you know this week what we will need to do.

Sensations costumes: As above - it was really hard to tell what these would be from a picture. It seems to be pretty low in front and back....If you have your black leotard from last year to wear underneath, this is the best option. Warm-ups on sale!

Hi Singers...

Hey you know the jacket set that we are getting for singing. Well, I found out they have a sale on this style of jacket until Oct 28th.....If you would like to order one it will be $58. This includes the JACKET and PANT, full back embroidery, front pocket personalization. This is almost $20 off the regular cost.

I have sizer jackets and pants at my house and will bring them to classes next week. You can come try anytime. We will be ordering black jackets and pants with a white stripe. This link will show you what it looks like.

Parent Meeting

Just a reminder....We will have a parent meeting for our Disneyland Tour Wednesday, Oct 7th at 8pm in the portable at Creekside Elem. We will be going over all information in the packet previously sent via e-mail and answering any questions you may have. Those who have performed with us at Disneyland in the past will tell you that not only was it a fun opportunity, but their students performance skills were greatly improved!!

Please join us to learn more about this opportunity.

Remember, our performance tours are optional. Your students standing in our program will not be affected if you attend or not. Attendance at this meeting is NOT a commitment to attend, only an information meeting.

Class Split/Costumes

Hi Friends!

Check your e-mail...we have split our Wednesday 6-7 class.

Also, for all students, costumes have been ordered. You will need to add shoes to your costume.

• Girls - Black ballet shoes (not slippers). Sens, Show, and Encore may wear black character shoes.
• Boys - Black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black dress socks.

Costumes should arrive mid November, costume fees are due by Oct 15th.

Performance Picnic this Friday 9/18

Roll call for all performers will be 5:30pm!!

Our annual Family Performance Picnic will be on Friday, September 18th at 6:00pm. Please feel free to invite family and friends to this free event. We will meet at Clearfield Amphitheater (Bicentennial Park) 800 E 650 S, behind the library. After our performance stick around while we get to know each other. Each family will need to bring their own picnic and a blanket.

In case of inclement weather, please call 801-444-0722 for a recorded message with more info.

Students MUST wear a Eat, Sing, Sleep T-shirt and TAN pants, shorts, or a skirt and dark shoes.

Girls MUST have hair pulled away from their faces. Top pulled back is fine, ponytails are not necessary.

Trial Class THURSDAY @ Creekside Elementary

The Choral Collection will be offering a free trial class for new students!

We wanted an opportunity to show families in the area what an awesome program we have! So, the best way to do this is let YOU come see what we do. We will hold a ONE TIME "come try us out" class on Tuesday, September 15th at Creekside Elementary in the portable.

Although our program offers classes for ages 3 yrs through High School, our trial classes will be for students Kindergarten through 6th grade.

• Kindergarten - 3rd Grade will meet from 5-6pm
• 4th - 6th Grade will meet from 6-7pm

The Choral Collection focuses on teaching with a proper vocal technique. In our classes we will also teach your children rhythm, dance and professional performance skills.

Computers, Performances and Everything.....OH MY!

What a crazy week.....We are gearing up for our first performance in September (See calendar to the right.) I am really pleased with the progress of our kids. It's going to be tough to get in everything we need in the first six weeks of class, but I know our singers are the BEST and can do anything!

Computers.....let me start by saying.....I LOVE my iMAC. When we got this awesome machine last year I was upgrading from about a 10 year old HP. On my old machine, whenever I saved anything, I saved it to a USB drive knowing that the computer would sometime die. Well, old habits die hard. On my new great iMAC I also saved EVERYTHING to a USB flash drive.......This past Thursday we had some crazy power surge or something and all my files are GONE!!! Newsletters, some accounting info, performance notes, it's really gone....So, the moral of my story: back up, BACK UP, BACK UP! .......I think I have learned my lesson.

On a happier note....Both Hollie and I will be able to team teach our Syracuse and Kaysville classes this week. I reeeeally miss seeing my Syracuse singers and can't wait to see how they are doing! See you at class!

Great First Week.../Disney Info

What an awesome first week of classes! It was so good to see you all again. I am really excited with the level of performance we will be able to gain this year. What amazing talent!

Thank you, parents, for giving me the opportunity to teach your children! What an awesome opportunity. I hope they love it as much as we love teaching them.

The swim party was AWESOME....I loved seeing so many singers there! I was amazed that so many of you were able to attend. Thanks for coming and plan on next July, this will definitely be a yearly event.

Regular classes begin tomorrow, I am sooo excited! What an exciting year we will have... we have chosen some great Broadway favorites for this year.

Swim Party Details

Ok, Here's the scoop.....

• Bring a towel
• Tubes will be provided
• Swim time is from 7-9:30 pm on MONDAY, July 27th. (Yes, this would be a great family night activity!)
• Stay for a portion or all evening

All Choral Collection alumni have been invited. I can't wait to see you all again and see what you are doing. I hope you come so we can catch up!

T-shirts will be available to order for $12, we have a really awesome shirt this year!! (These are required for current students) The shirts are a ringer tee with this print....

Class Pictures

I still have some class pictures.  If you ordered a package and never received them, you have three options.  

1. Pick them up at Surf-n-swim on July 27th.  (I hope you will be there to swim anyway!)
2. Come by my house anytime, please call first so I can have them out and ready. 801-444-0722
3. Wait until the first day of class, August 4th and you can pick them up.

AHHH.....Summer

I hope everyone is having a great summer!  We are vacationing away.....I can't believe July 4th is almost here! 

It will be a little sad not having our singers in the parade this year, but I am really excited for our swimming party!  I hope we will get a chance to catch up with singers from years past.  (Scroll down for more info. about our little get together.)

Disney...2010

I am in the process of putting together our audition materials for Disney this season.  We will be making the trip the last week in April.  I can't wait!!

We had an amazing experience in 2008!!  Included are a few photos from our show, our singers were outstanding!

(Our performance tour is an optional activity, either attending or not this will not affect your childs place in class.)

Swim Party

Just a reminder about our family swimming party at Surf-n-swim in Layton.  This event is free for all singers (past, present and future) and their families.  July 27th from 7-10pm.
