PLEASE BE PROMPT. We will not be doing individual pictures this year, but invite you to use the stage area after our performance on the 16th for pictures. Pictures will be during the rehearsal time.

Young ‘Uns 5:00-6:30

April 16, Friday - Spring Concert at Creekside. Roll Call 6:30pm **This is a change...the last newsletter had roll call at 6:00 - Our show begins at 7:00, so roll call is 6:30. The show will last approx. one hour.

Concert Venue...

A few of you have asked why we are at Creekside for concert....Many more of you are probably wondering....sooo, here is the answer.............

Unfortunately, LHS raised their rates this year to DOUBLE the amount we paid last year. The rate to rent the auditorium or any stage in Davis and Weber county is about the same rate that LHS now charges. In order to do concert at any of these venues, we would have had to have a $40 concert fee per family. I just couldn't ask that much this year, without giving advance notice, so we made the decision to do LHS every other year. So, instead of the $20 concert fee outlined in our fee schedule, we have a $10 concert fee this year.

Besides the four free concert tickets you get when paying your concert fee, extra concert tickets are $3 when purchased before the night of the show. We want everyone to get their tickets in advance, so we know how many people to expect. We still will sell tickets at the door for $5 for those that have a late addition to their party.

Thanks so much for asking, I LOVE to perform on the High School stage for many reasons. One of which is the comfort of seating, the second is the professionalism and experience it brings to our performers. I can't wait to be there again next year, AND I will be able to let parents know in advance what the concert fee will be.

See you at class!
Thanks!
Geina

Lyrics to Disney Music

American Pop Forever

American, American, American, pop forever.
American, American, American, pop.

Solo: Can you hear it playin, theres music all around.
Solo: Everywhere you feel it, in circles like a merry go round.
Solo: Can you see it makin everybody happy too.
Solo: It can touch you deeply, it's music just for you.

So, today were singin the music of our land.
American, American, American, pop forever.
American, American, American, pop.

American, its American. American, American, American pop.
American, its American. American, American, American pop.

American, American, American, pop forever.
American, American, American, pop.....Forever!

Lyrics to Disney Music

American as Rock and Roll

Meet me after the bell, we'll be rockin sock and hopin.
Buddy's soundin just swell, saxes screamin, Phil and Don dreamin.

It's Am as Rock and Roll

Crew cuts, fenders and all, poodle dresses, piled high tresses.
Sally's standin real tall, bomp, bomp, bompin, Bristol stompin.

It's Am as Rock and Roll

Take me back to 56, bandstand on the tube.
Little Richard takes the stage, the Rascals set the groove.
Lets move.

Elvis Presley is hot, so's Chuck Barry, along comes Mary.
Surf is playing alot, fruge and swimmin, can't stop grinnin.

It's Am as Rock and Roll

Rock and Roll!

Lyrics to Disney Music

Boogie Woogie

He was a famous trumpet man from out Chicago way.
He had a boogie style that no one else could play.
He was the top man at his craft,
but then his number came up and he was gone with the draft.
He's in the army now. A blowin' reveille.
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of company B.

They made him blow a bugle for his Uncle Sam.
It really brought him down because he could not jam.
The captain seemed to understand,
because the next day the cap' went out and drafted the band.
And now the company jumps when he plays reveille.
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of company B.

A toot, a toot, a toodlie-a-da-toot.
He blows it eight to the bar in boogie rhythm.
He can't blow a note unless a bass and guitar
is playin' with him.
He makes the company jump when he plays reveille.
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of company B.

Da, da da ba do ba.
The boogie woogie bugle boy of company B.

More Lyrics

#3 Beach Boys Blast

Well, she got her daddy's car

And she cruised through the hamburger stand, now

Seems she forgot all about the library

Like she told her old man, now

And with the radio blasting

Goes cruisin' just as fast as she can, now

And she'll have fun, fun, fun

'Til her daddy takes the T-Bird away

Well, you knew all along

That your Dad was gettin' wise to you, now

And since he took your set of keys

You've been thinking that your fun is all through, now

But you can come along with me

'Cause we gotta lot of things to do, now

And you'll have fun, fun, fun

Now that Daddy took the T-Bird away

And we'll have fun, fun, fun

Now that Daddy took the T-Bird away

Daddy took the T-Bird away

Catch a wave and you're sittin' on top of the world

Catch a wave, Catch a wave

Those who don't just have to put it down

Catch a wave and you're sittin' on top of the world

Catch a wave, Catch a wave

They said it wouldn't last too long

Catch a wave they'll be sittin' on top of the world

Catch a wave they'll be sittin' on top of the world

Catch a wave they'll be sittin' on top of the world

I get around from town to town

I’m a real cool head

I’m makin real good bread

I get around

Round, round, round get around

I get around

I get around

Lyrics to Disney Music

#5 Rock the Jukebox (Enc, Sens, ST students)

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox spin your favorite song.

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox rock you, all night long.

When your feelin down and you need a solution

Nothin lifts you like the sound of a song

When it plays your mood, starts improvin’

Just feel the power of the music gettin strong.

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox spin your favorite song.

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox rock you, all night long.

Rock, Rock, Rock the box. Rock the Jukebox.

Rock, Rock, Rock the box. Rock the Jukebox.

Rock, Rock, Rock the box. Rock the Jukebox.

Rock, Rock, Rock the box. Rock, Rock the box.

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox spin your favorite song.

Rock the Jukebox, Rock, Rock the Jukebox

Time to let the Jukebox rock you, all night long.

All Night. Rock the box. time to Rock the box.

Rock the Jukebox.

#6 Nostalgia (All Students)

When I was young I listened to the radio waitin’ for my favorite song....

When it plays I sing along...It makes me smile.

It’s yesterday one more....Oooooo.

Charleston, Charleston, made in Carolina.

Some dance, some prance, thay say theres nothing finer than.

Charleston, Charleston, oh how you can shuffle.

Do do do do...

Buck dance, wing dance. We’ll be in that number.

Charleston, the new Charleston...now.

Ba, ba, ba, ba...

I’ve got rhythm, I’ve got music.

I’ve got my song, who could ask for anything more.

Old man trouble, I don’t mind him.

You wount find him, round my door.

Ba, ba, ba, ba...

Who could ask for anything more?

Who could ask for anything more?

Pardon me boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Track 29, boy you can give me a shine.

I can afford to board the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

I’ve got my fare, and just a trifle to spare.

You leave the Penn. Station bout a quarter to four.

Read a magazine and then your in Baltimore.

Dinner at the diner, nothin could be finer.

Than to have your ham and eggs in Carolina.

When you hear the whistle blowin eight-to-the-bar.

Then you know that Tenn is not very far.

Shovel all the coal in, Gotta keep it rollin.

Whoo, whoo, Chattanooga there you are.

Oh you can rock it you can roll it, you can stop and even stroll it at the hop.

When the record starts a spinnin you KALIPSO and you Chicken at the hop.

Do the dance sensation that is sweepin the nation at the hop.

Ahhh, Lets go to the hop (4 times)

Come on...Let’s go to the hop.

You ain’t nothin but a hound dog. Cryin all the time.

You ain’t nothin but a hound dog. Cryin all the time.

You ain’t never caught a rabbit and you aint no friend of mine.

Sunshine on my Shoulder (solos)

Been workin so hard, and punchin my card.

Eight hours for what? Oh tell me what I’ve got.

I’ve got this feeling, that times just holdin me down.

I’ll hit the ceiling, or else I’ll tear up this town.

Now I gotta cut loose, footloose. Kick off your Sunday shoes.

Please, Louise, pull me offa my knees.

Jack, get back, come on before we crack.

Loose your blues, everybody cut footloose.

Loose your blues, Kick off your Sunday shoes.

Loose your blues, everybody cut footloose.

More to come...If you would like lyrics to a specific song, please let me know....Thanks!
